Meet Uyangaa

As a Tour Leader with Sundowners for the last 3 years, I love showing our travellers the wonderfully diverse cultures of these regions, including my own. Come join me for an amazing overland journey, I can't wait to meet you!

Favourite thing about Tour Leading: For me the best part about tour leading is seeing how your group members perceive different cultures. I think one of the best feelings is when you see them being so amazed by certain traditions and start seeing those countries from local perspectives. Also, it's very nice to meet so many different people from different countries and create lifetime memories with them.

Favourite place to visit and why: Saint Petersburg, because one can truly can see the impressive culture, history, and beautiful tradition of Russia. Also, Mongolia: many people don't really know Mongolia that much except Genghis Khan and horses. Even though there are still certain problems in Mongolia, like in any other developing country, I really like to show my travellers our cultural heritage, great traditions, long history and ,of course, nomadic lifestyle.

On the road tips: Don't worry! Even though traveling to new places, eating strange foods and meeting with new people, who have different cultures, might seem intimidating at first, even sometimes it can be challenging, I am sure you'll be proud of yourself in the end. Everything is an experience. And sharing those experiences with other people is amazing!

Hobbies, achievements and dreams: I believe that life is like a journey, so there should be some directions, where one wants to go. For me, immersing with different cultures, talking with local people about their lives, creating something (taking photographs, writing blogs) are my biggest hobbies. I learned English by myself and then I learned Russian and Korean. Now I am learning French on my own and I will learn Chinese this year at my university. I think that when people speak in different language, the way they think starts to change. It's really interesting.

My goal is after I complete my Bachelor in International Studies, I want to get Fulbright scholarship to Stanford University to make impact in Mongolian society and more in the area of tourism. My dream is to work at UNICEF and travel all around the world.
