Take an overland journey through China in September and soak up Hong Kong`s traditional culture during the Fire Dragon Festival. Watch the almost 70m long Fire Dragon, covered in flaming incense sticks, parade through the streets of the small village of Tai Hang, where the festival and legend holds its origin. Legend has it that fortune tellers warned that ward off a destruction of a typhoon and plague, a fire dance had to be staged for three days and three nights. The parading dragons, firecrackers and music and dance performances make for an unforgettable spectacle and a unique glimpse into traditional and local life.
