How much money will you need for daily expenses in Azerbaijan?

The average daily cost for sightseeing, transport, food and entertainment is ₼33 Manats, which is around $20 US dollars at the time of writing this article.

Azerbaijan has ATMs in Baku but less frequent outside of the city. City ATMs have been known to run dry on the weekends so make sure you have enough cash to see you through - Azerbaijan is very much a cash-society.

US dollars and Euros are easiest to exchange. Travellers cheques are not accepted.

Tipping is not common. Taxis round up to the nearest whole amount. A service charge is normally added to the bill in mid to high-end restaurants. Although as this doesn’t go to the waiter/waitress, a tip for good service would always be appreciated.
