Itinerary

From European to Asian Russia
You are greeted at the airport by your Tour Director and accompanied to your hotel. During our time in Moscow we explore this vibrant city experiencing its opulence, colour and rich history. Wandering the iconic Kremlin and witnessing the candy-cane Russian masterpieces of St. Basil's Cathedral before bidding farewell to this bold and charismatic city.

On board our private train we journey to Kazan; an interesting city on the Volga River where ornate Russian Orthodox churches share the skyline with the minarets of mosques. We visit the city's Kremlin and gain an insight into the turbulent history between the Tatars, Cossacks and Russians before climbing back on board to traverse the Urals and pass from Europe into Asia.

See Siberia and Remote Mongolia
In Russia, the word bread is associated with hospitality we are welcomed to Novosibirsk with traditional bread and salt and a tour of this Soviet-style city which developed as a direct result of the Trans Siberian Railway being built over a century ago.

Travelling deeper into Siberia there is time to visit the major cities of Irkutsk and Ulan Ude, to learn about life in Siberia and we dedicate a day to enjoy blissful Lake Baikal in the heart of Siberia. We visit a traditional village, enjoy a picnic and take a boat trip on the world's largest freshwater lake. Onto Mongolia and it's capital, Ulaanbaatar where we visit the Choijin Lama Temple and the Gandan Monastery - the city's most important where some 500 Buddhist monks reside, before heading into the scenic steppe.

Beijing and the Great Wall of China
We cross border at Erlian before continuing across the dramatic expanses of the great Gobi Desert arriving in Beijing the following day. Over the next couple of days your friendly, knowledgable guides have stunning sights to show you, from the Temple of Heaven, the medieval masterpiece of architecture and landscape design, to the infamous Tiananmen Square and of course the magnificent Great Wall of China before we enjoy a farewell dinner of traditional Peking Duck.
This marks the end of your memorable journey and the time has come to make your way to the airport as we bid you bon voyage.
