Amanda travelled half the world before she joined Sundowners Overland. It was an obvious choice for her as she has always dreamt of travelling the famous Trans Siberian Railway. Now Amanda has experienced the regions for herself and loves sharing her passion with both agents and clients as our NSW Sales Representative. The most rewarding part of Amanda’s job is to see people’s faces light up when they realise just how amazing these journeys are and how many options they have to make it the trip of their dreams.

What do you love most about overland travel?
You get to experience and see so much more. Who wants to fly? – Boring!

All of them!

Taste everything, pack light, don’t forget your travel cup, bring some travel cards, learn: hello, please, thankyou – it will get you a long way with the locals, and don’t forget to laugh.

What is your most memorable travel experience?
So many, but here is one:
Watching the sun set over Lake Baikal, snow capped mountains in the background, sharing stories, meat on a stick and beers with some new friends.

Which Sundowners Overland journeys are on your wish list?
I would absolutely love to do the Silk Road next. Beijing to Istanbul.

What is your favourite season to travel?
Summer time but I would definitely be up for a Russian winter just to experience it.
