It is almost 40 years since the first mini-bus set off from India to Europe with Sundowners' young Australian founder and his assorted travelling companions, and while much has changed in Asia over that time, overland travel across Asia is still very much at the heart of Sundowners.

Asia offers some of the most extraordinary overland routes - from the Trans Siberian Railway to the magnificent Silk Road, with endless variations to explore. Going overland is about recapturing the true spirit of travel and experiencing the challenge and excitement of crossing the great deserts and high mountain passes of Asia, and negotiating the remote border posts on the far-flung frontiers of these wild regions. Its about sharing our philosophy that borders are not boundaries, but new frontiers - each a gateway to new adventures ahead.
